I thought I might never be able to run again because of my knee issues. But this summer, I started running again, completed the longest run I’ve done in 17 years, and even joined my first 5K fun run in that long. Eric worked with me over a series of sessions to improve how I move and my alignment, strengthen imbalances, and help me gradually and safely return to running. At every check-in, he listens carefully to what I’ve accomplished, where I’m struggling, and any pain or discomfort I’m experiencing, then adjusts my exercises and plans the next stage of my progress. When my personal gym routine resulted in neck pain, we worked through that too. Being an active adult, I appreciate having regular check-ins to help me stay at my best.

I honestly can’t recommend Eric enough. From the very first visit, my experience with him has been nothing short of amazing. When I came in, I was dealing with severe foot pain that had been on and off for over three years. It was eventually diagnosed as plantar fasciitis, and at its worst, the pain was easily an 8 or 9 - especially first thing in the morning. I had already tried everything I could think of - massage therapy, chiropractic care, acupuncture - but nothing gave me lasting relief. What really sets Eric apart is his approach. He didn’t just go along with my assumptions or rush to label the issue. He took the time to properly assess what was going on over the first few sessions, and I really appreciated how thoughtful and thorough he was. Once he pinpointed the problem, he built a personalized plan with exercises that we worked through together during each session, constantly adapting them based on my progress. I’ll admit, the exercises were challenging at first, and I wasn’t completely convinced they would work - but I trusted the process. About three months later, I had a full routine of over 10 targeted exercises, and for the first time in years… my foot pain was completely gone. That kind of transformation speaks for itself. Eric is knowledgeable, patient, and genuinely invested in getting results for his clients. I’m absolutely going to continue working with him, and if you’re dealing with pain and looking for a physiotherapist in Hamilton, do yourself a favor and book with Eric - you won’t regret it.

Eric is amazing. I have worked with him for several years as a fitness trainer and physio therapist. He combined several modes of physio for me, lots of deep tissue work, personalized physio exercises and personal training. He always listens well, addresses the underlying issues very well having an extremely good sense of movement and the body and always has me reducing pain, reaching potential and confidence beyond my imagination. He has a huge, very creative, roster of technique and exercise movements always personalized to my issues. He is very personable and puts clients at ease. I highly recommend him.

Movement analysis defines your recovery plan

A deep dive into the biomechanics of your motion uncovers what’s behind your pain and limitations. You’ll discover insights about your joint mobility, muscle strength, body symmetry, and risk factors.

From this solid vantage point, we develop a personalized plan that combines passive rehab and active rehab to support your body’s natural healing systems, reinforce optimal movement patterns, and increase capability. This essential assessment and program design are the first steps on your journey to the pain relief, improved stability, and increased strength necessary to return to and stay in play with a reduced risk of injury. It’s why we’re the physiotherapy clinic Hamilton recreational enthusiasts choose.

  • Understand your body mechanics
  • Uncover your risk factors
  • Correct movement patterns
  • Establish your muscle tone baseline
  • Benchmark your range of motion

Soft tissue work enables faster rehab

We prepare your muscles for corrective exercises with massage and soft tissue work.

Your program may include manual soft tissue work (massage) and joint manipulation, CranioSacral Therapy (CST), myofascial release techniques (MRT), and Active Release Technique (ART®). We may also make referrals for RMT sports massage, braces, and supports.

  • Relax muscles
  • Reduce pain
  • Reduce stress
  • Reduce inflammation
  • Regenerate function
  • Support regeneration
  • Support recovery
  • Support immune function
  • Support overall well-being

Functional movement work locks in your recovery

With your mind and body primed, you participate in active, rehabilitative physiotherapy, completing corrective exercises in the clinic and at home.

Movement optimization elements are included in your program to address your body’s vulnerabilities. For example, an exercise might increase tension in underutilized areas of your body, distributing force more effectively. You watch as we demonstrate the correct form for each movement and explain any adjustments needed to meet your body where it is today. Under our supervision, you complete a high-quality workout so you can comfortably and confidently do the corrective exercises at home.

  • Support recovery
  • Advance healing
  • Reduce pain
  • Improve injury resilience
  • Improve function
  • Improve performance
  • Safely return to sports

Improvement Guaranteed, or We’ll Pay for a Session With Another Therapist

When you follow our recommended Heal + Prevent™ program, you’re committing to a personalized plan designed to help you recover from injury, improve movement quality, build physical capacity, and support your long-term active lifestyle. If our recommended program doesn’t result in improvement, we’ll pay for your first appointment with another Hamilton physiotherapist.

The Pursue Guarantee.

How can we be so confident?

Because we’ve helped many active adults recover from injury, move better, return to the activities they enjoy, and continue pursuing their goals with greater confidence.

Pursue Physiotherapy + Performance has changed the way I look at recovering after pitching. Eric is an amazing practitioner who has shown me the proper corrective exercises to extend the longevity of my career and increase my performance when it matters.

Eric and Pursue Physiotherapy + Performance have really helped me deal with my bursitis. Having been a swimmer for over 15 years, I always just dealt with the pain, but Eric has shown me ways to treat it daily with corrective exercises that have really helped, and now I don’t have to just manage the pain anymore.

Frequently Asked Questions

First, we’ll discuss your current condition, symptoms, and performance goals. Next, we’ll conduct a comprehensive assessment, including range of motion, strength, movement patterns, functional capacity ,and muscular tone throughout the body. From there, you’ll receive soft tissue work if needed, perform corrective exercises, and take home your personalized plan that bridges your current reality with your goals.

Your custom program will include corrective exercises and training that specifically address your personal movement analysis results and target your performance deficits. It prescribes the optimal journey to reach your performance goals free of pain. Our personalized programming for sport and activity enthusiasts is why we’re the physiotherapy clinic Hamilton athletes rely on.

Optimization Sessions continue your functional care journey by guiding you further toward your goals. We reassess your movement patterns, functional capacity, and muscular tone as they adapt to the treatment’s stimulus. As you improve, you’ll progress to more demanding exercises to propel your performance.

When we develop your personalized plan, we set defined goals to mark your progress. The specific goals we’ve landed on and your unique case determine how many appointments you’ll need to eliminate pain and boost performance. In general, appointments start weekly. Based on your progress, we’ll move to bi-weekly and eventually transition to a preventive care plan.

Your initial assessment is 60 minutes, which enables us to dig deep to correctly assess and prescribe your optimal program. The follow-up Optimization Sessions range from 30 to 90 minutes, depending on your needs and goals.

Movement analysis supports effective rehab and preventive medicine by providing a baseline, allowing us to monitor your progress in key areas that enhance performance and health. We test and assess static posture, range of motion, single-leg power and stability, jump height, squat coordination, balance, and other movement patterns.

Re-assessments at each appointment ensure you’re progressing and spending time on the right exercises. These routine re-assessments are typically shorter, but we’ll occasionally carry out a more involved evaluation to truly pinpoint where you’re at in your journey.

You’ll need only comfortable workout clothes and a water bottle for your appointment—you can leave everything else to us!

Please arrive 5 minutes ahead of your appointment ready to work out.

Yes! Although in-person physiotherapy sessions enable physical contact for deeper movement assessment, we offer virtual physiotherapy when critical. When booking, indicate your preference, and we’ll confirm availability.

You will need an adjustable webcam so we can view your movements from optimal positions. Choose a room that gives you enough space to move around. Some simple exercise equipment is helpful but not necessary—we will recommend any equipment that would benefit you. Wear workout clothes and have water on hand, just as you would in the clinic.
